Welcome to my private and independent practice.  As a psychologist based in Tucson, I serve children, adults, and professionals in southern Arizona (and beyond) by focusing on helping people reach their potential.

I have personally written all the following information to make myself transparent.  My practice is designed around being value-based, results driven, and cost effective.  To offer you the very best services, I participate in ongoing and cutting edge psychological research.

My work as a psychologist is viewable at the end of the menu tab entitled "About Dr. Brunner" within my downloadable resume.  As a psychologist with expertise in treating children, adolescents, and adults with evidence-based methods, I give presentations to local Tucson groups regularly.

You are likely looking for a very individualized set of services, and that is what I focus on providing in a private, comfortable environment.  You will be carefully served by someone with the highest level of training in their field.  Special emphasis is placed on using evidence-based methods that have scientific backing.

My Tucson community roles have included serving as a consultant to St. Joseph's Hospital, as I spearheaded the effort to develop a pre-surgery assessment protcol to serve the surgery team.  My work there was with the Rehabilitation Psychology and Bariatric Surgery teams.

Giving back to the Community is a key part of my Mission.  I do so through my internship program for aspiring undergraduate psychologists, through pro bono work with community organizations in need of volunteers, and via a non-profit organization I am developing called the center for Character Strength Investment (CSI).

Unique Approach

I offer a full spectrum of quality clinical and forensic services, and focus on tailoring my delivery of those services to fit your personality, situation, and needs. Together we will design the mixture of assessment, intervention, and consultation services that will most efficiently address your situation. From there we plan how we will measure our progress toward the outcome to ensure you are obtaining the value you want.  Psychologists have special expertise with how to develop a "road map" for how to tackle complex problems concisely.

I am fully committed to treating people with dignity, and with respect for their individuality. The relationship between a person’s Value/Belief system and their life is an important factor I make sure to account for fully. I have had special training in this area, as well as in the area of Psychology and Religion/Spirituality.

Evidence-Based Focus

I select treatments that you are comfortable with, which match your Values and outlook, and which also have the most scientific data supporting them. Increasingly healthcare is moving toward using evidence-based resources.

My focus is to choose the most effective and efficient treatment that is comfortable for you. This choice demands review of competing scientific opinion, and also the thoughtful application of that treatment in a way that is tailored to your personality. To understand how you are best served by someone with strong scientific training, go to the section on “How do Psychologists function”. You want someone who knows which research to look at, and how to evaluate the scientific value of competing opinions.
