Dr. Brunner is currently in the process of publishing a state-of-the-art psychological measure with his colleague Dr. Charles Spielberger, a world renowned expert who has authored the most widely used measures of anxiety and anger in the world. This measure will be called the State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory for Children and Adolescents (STAXI-C/A; Brunner & Spielberger), and will be published by Psychological Assessments Resources (PAR) later this year.

Dr. Brunner recently took a leading role as he helps St. Joseph’s Hospital setup a pre-surgery psychological assessment protocol for patients considering bariatric surgery. In doing this, he drew from his expertise in medical psychology which is based on his previous hospital-based work with Shands Hospital at the University of Florida, as well as at Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
