Drs. Partridge, Mildred, and Brunner together submitted a journal article to the peer reviewed scientific journal called the Journal of Personality Assessment (JPA). The article is entitled “Psychometric Evaluation of the State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory–2 Child and Adolescent Parent Form”.
Abstract Summary: The psychometric properties of the State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory Child and Adolescent Parent form (STAXI-2 C/AP; Partridge, Mildred, & Brunner, 2009) were evaluated in the current study. Parents of 154 Australian primary school children aged five to twelve years from seven Melbourne schools participated in the study. The internal consistency and validity of the STAXI-2 C/AP were examined. Results revealed that the STAXI-2 C/AP displayed strong internal consistency, sound factor structure and convergent validity. The STAXI-2 C/AP was able to distinguish between children with significant conduct problems and a community sample of children. Such outcomes provide preliminary psychometric evidence that the STAXI-2 C/AP may be a promising tool for screening children at risk of developing anger-related conduct problems and for evaluating anger treatment outcomes.
